The Beginning

So I am finally making our first post to our blog about our adventures down south. Trav and I thought we would try making a blog to keep everyone up to date with our lives.

Soooooo here is an update on the first 3.5 weeks down in the Bay Area. The drive down was not that bad, it was a beautiful day, and unfortunately I think I drove Trav nuts with a few too many rest stops. The drive took about 10.5 -11 hours and we only stopped to eat once, breakfast in Weed, at a Mexican breakfast joint (who would have thought?). When we finally made it to the apartment after a few wrong turns and not having any clue how to get around Fremont, it took another 2-3 hours to unpack the entire U-Haul. My poor brother and Travis, they were soaking wet by the time we were done and starving since we all hadn't eaten since 9am. Bu they were troopers and we all powered it out and grabbed some food immediately after finishing. I had to be at work unfortunately the next morning and only got to ay a quick goodbye to Kyle before he flew out the day at 9am.

Trav didn't start work till a week and a half ago, so for two weeks he had a nice little vacation. He was a sweetheart and helped me unpack, organize furniture and he had dinner made everynight when I got home from work. He is so wonderful! The whole work situation was quite interesting as to get the offer letter that had been verbally promised was this huge ordeal and then after he finally got it, the day he was planning on starting work and turning in the signed offer letter, they told him they needed time to now process the offer letter, so he had that second week off while they processed him, weird. LOL All is good now as he has started, things seem to be going well, he got his truck, laptop, phone and has been going on ride alongs with one of the guys the past two days.

Work for me has been insane. I swear it seems like I have no down time, and the last two days I finally think my body cracked, I got sick. I do love that work has been so engaging and really been empowering me to be more than what is expected. We are working on opening an office in Fresno so there has been a major push for market research and making our presence known, I am still supporting the Sacramento office and trying to keep up with my office keeps me running in circles.

In terms of what Trav and I have been up to, we have been super busy. The first weekend after we moved in we unfortunately didn't get to do much besides unpack and get organized because I had to be in Irvine for a work meeting Sunday at 2pm. Then 2 weeks ago we went on an amazing hike at a place called Mission Peak, only about a 15 minutes drive from our apartment. Let me say this hike was killer! About 6 miles round trip, a 2200' climb and we were hurting the next day! The view from the top was amazing though, definitely worth the blood, sweat and tears. Haha That night we went out and tried this club that people had been telling me about in Pleasanton, called Aura. This is about a 30 minute drive from our place and actually on my way to work. The place was great, the music was great, they had two rooms, the main room played more hip hop/mash ups and the back room, the blue room played the techno that we loved! The next morning we tried out a church down here in Fremont called Bridges. It was great in a way but then it is also a bit more progressive than I think Trav and I are thinking we are looking for. Check out their website www.bridgescc.org On this past Thursday, we went back to Aura because there was a great DJ spinning there, Donald Glaude, and we had a ball, danced our buns off and even made some new friends (I will post some pictures in a little bit)

Last weekend was just as full. My work sponsored a Hospitality Tent for the Nationwide Tour Tournament at a local course, called the wine country championship. After our morning workouts, we went out there for 4 or 5 hours and had a great time watching good golf. That night we went out to dinner at a mexican restaurant and back to the club Aura. This time it was horrible, the music was awful the people were rude, luckily we got in for free. Sunday was a more laid back day, just did laundry, cleaned and got ready for the week.

So other than that we are just working and looking forward to another weekend and new places to try. I am going to post some pictures for everyone to share. :)
